Kathua 27 November (KNB): A total 32 candidates are in fray for phase-V of DDC, Panchayat By-Polls in Kathua, officials said.

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau, District Panchayat Election Officer, Kathua O.P Bhagat said that no candidate has withdrawn nomination papers as the last date for withdrawal for phase-V ended on 26 November, 2020.

The polling under phase-V of District Development Council (DDC) and Panchayat by-elections is scheduled to be held on December 10, 2020.

According to the district election authorities 19 candidates are in fray for 02 DDC constituencies, 12-Marheen and 14-Nagrota Gujjroo of the district while 08 candidates for 2 Sarpanch and 05 candidates for I Panch seats are in fray in the twin blocks.

Meanwhile, one Candidate for the vacant panch seat in block Marheen was declared elected unopposed by the concerned Returning Officer. (KNB)
