2 PSOs of Iltija Mufti Suspended, Former CM Calls Move ‘Unfair’

Srinagar 10 Feb(KNB): Two personal security officers (PSOs) assigned to Iltija Mufti, daughter of former J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, have been suspended.

Mehbooba Mufti criticized the move, calling it “ironic and unfair” and alleging that the officers were punished because Iltija managed to reach Kathua despite being confined to her home.

Mehbooba also questioned the lack of action against those responsible for the deaths of Waseem Mir in Sopore and Makhan Din in Bilawar. She accused the ruling National Conference (NC) government of failing its promises and effectively legitimizing such actions by remaining silent.

In a post on X, Mehbooba said, “Ironic and unfair that Iltija’s two PSOs have been suspended for no fault of their own. They were punished simply because Iltija managed to reach Kathua despite being confined to her home like a criminal. Meanwhile, there has been no reported action against those responsible for the deaths of Waseem Mir in Sopore or Makhan Din in Bilawar. The ruling NC government, which came to power promising to ensure security and dignity for the people, remains a silent observer . They thus are not only shirking from their responsibility but also thereby normalizing these unjust and abnormal actions.”(KNB)
