Srinagar 22 January (KNB): Two local militants of LeT(TRF) outfit were killed by security forces in an encounter in South Kashmir Shopian’s Kilbal area.
The gunfight started in Shopian between militants and security forces after a cordon and search operation was carried out in the Kilbal area following a tip-off about the presence of militants there.
In the encounter, as per police, two local militants of LeT(TRF) outfit were killed. However, the slain militants’ identities were being ascertained by the officials.
It was further said that the security forces had recovered incriminating materials including arms and ammunition from the encounter site after the operation.
It is pertinent to mention that there was no casualty reported from the forces’ side in the gunfight. (KNB)
