2 held for kidnapping minor girls in Baramulla

Srinagar 01 May 2023 (KNB): The Baramulla police arrested two accused persons for allegedly kidnapping two minor girls from a village here, police said on Monday.

In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB Baramulla police said that Abdul Rehman Beigh s/o Abdul Rahim Beigh approached police station Sheeri and lodged a complaint alleging that his two daughters ( identity withheld) aged 14 and 15 years, were kidnapped by Mohd Aqib Dar and Rayees Ahmad Lone, both residents of Pehliharan.

“On this information, PS Sheeri registered a case under FIR No. 38/2023 u/s 363, 376, 506 IPC.” statement said

Statement further stated that the police acting promptly arrested both the accused and rescued the minor girls. The victims were safely handed over to their legal heirs after completing all necessary legal formalities, and the accused are currently in police custody.
