Srinagar 30 September (KNB): Reasi Police on Thursday said that they have arrested 21 more absconders evading arrests since years, in the last four weeks and 100 absconding criminals have been arrested in five months by the police including 04 OGWs, 10 surrendered militants and others.
Police in its statement said that in a drive against underground criminals & absconders, Reasi Police steering ahead in its mission against outlaws who are evading arrests since years, in another round of chase, raids & searches, multiple teams of Reasi Police arrested 21 more absconders evading arrests since years and executed 35 Warrants in last four week. 100 absconding criminals which includes 04 OGW’s, 10 Surrendered millitants, 05 murder and attempt to murdere accused, 19 were involved in Kidnapping and Rape, 09 were involved in drug peddling and 53 were involved in other offences evading arrests since years, are arrested and produced in the concerned courts since since May 2021 and executed 154 General Warrants of Arrest issued by Hon’ble Courts.
“Out of these 100 absconders 12 arrested after 30 years, 18 after 20 years, 31 apprehended after 10 years and 39 were arrested after 05 years of commission of crime,” the statement said.
It further said that 10 absconders under pressure of being caught have opted to surrender before the concerned courts of the district than being caught by police.
Police said that it took a long chase of more than 30 years for 12 absconders & more than 20 years for 18 absconders. “One absconder was arrested after 35 years of commission of crime.” police added.
It was further said that 35 general warrants of arrest were executed in four weeks & 154 in five months. (KNB)
