YSS organise competitions in Volleyball, Kho-Kho & Kabaddi

Srinagar June 2(KNB): Competitions in different games are underway at south Kashmir’s Pulwama. The Department of Youth Services and Sports is organising these competitions for the girl participants in the age group of under 19 years in the Decipline of volleyball, Kho-Kho and Kabaddi.

A huge number of girls from different schools of the district are participating in these activities. The joyous and very enthusiastic student girl players were heard expressing gratitude to the Department of Youth Services & Sports for organising such activities for the students.

The event was inaugurated by the Principal of Government Women’s College Pulwama along with District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) Pulwama and other senior officials of the Department

Speaking to the participants worthy DYSSO said that the Sports is an important aspect of every being’s life and it immensely helps in improving our health as well as teaching us some good qualities like discipline, hard work, patience, respect, team-work etc.

He further stated that YSS is committed to ensure mass participation of girls and boys in different games and sports activities.
He added that extra-curricular activities play a vital role in the all round development of a person. ‘’Elders should not dwell in the winning and losing aspect of sports, instead initiate students to participate more in gaining experience and attaining a better sense of sportsman spirit’’, he added.(KNB)
