Youth killed during clashes in Anantnag

Anantnag 16 June (KNB): A youth was killed  in  during clashes between security forces and protesters in South Kashmir’s Anantnag  district on Saturday.

Sheeraz Ahmed Naikoo son of Ghulam Mohammed Naikoo, a resident of Brakpora area of Anantnag district . was hit by pellet on hisneck and head, local sources said.

Police Official while talking to KNB confirmed the death and said Sheeraz had sustained pellet injuries on his neck and head.

Medical Superintendent Anantnag hospital,  also confirmed the death of the youth. He said KNB that the youth had received serious injury.

Meanwhile clashes had begun in Anantnag town after the conclusion of Eid Prayers in Eidgah at Janglat Mandi early morning today.

The Police fired tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesters, however the youth regrouped in large number and battles continued.

The Government Forces opened fire and pellets upon civilians near the Ashajipora bridge in which Sheeraz was shot dead.
