Srinagar, March 19(KNB): Rizwan Asad Pandit, a youth from Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district died in police custody at Srinagar during intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
As per the reports, Rizwan was arrested by Police for inquiring in connection with some militancy related case and was allegedly killed in police custody last night.
However, the police also confirmed the death of Rizwan and has taken up the matter to magisterial inquiry to ascertain the actual cause of death.
Meanwhile, in wake of the death of youth, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora has postponed the semester examination scheduled for Tuesday.(KNB)
