Addressing a fervent crowd in Tral sub-division of Pulwama district, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President, Mehbooba Mufti emphasized the pivotal role of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth in bolstering the party’s vision and agenda.

During her spirited roadshow aimed at rallying support for party candidate Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, Mufti underscored the enthusiastic backing received from the region’s youth for PDP’s pro-people initiatives.

Mufti articulated that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have recognized PDP as the stalwart guardian of their honor, dignity, academic pursuits and economic prosperity. Drawing attention to the party’s tenure in power, she delineated sustainable strategies devised to nurture the potential of the youth, including facilitating quality education, enhancing living standards and integrating them into political decision-making processes.

Expressing deep concern over the pervasive issue of unemployment and underemployment among the youth, Mufti reiterated PDP’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing youth employment as a linchpin of the region’s developmental paradigm and collective security.

Highlighting the enduring contributions of successive PDP governments, Mufti reminisced about the transformative impact of initiatives such as establishing a robust network of higher educational institutions, Fruit Mandis and enhancing road connectivity. She accentuated the forthcoming emergence of Awantipora as a burgeoning economic hub, propelled by projects like AIIMS and the Islamic University of Science & Technology.

Mufti also lamented the current power crisis gripping Jammu and Kashmir, contrasting it with the strides made during PDP’s tenure. She called upon the populace to throw their weight behind Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, portraying him as a symbol of the challenges faced by Kashmiri youth post-August 2019.

In urging the electorate to respond to New Delhi’s actions in the region through the ballot, Mufti emphasized the need to elevate their genuine concerns to the national stage. She decried the post-August 2019 scenario, characterizing it as an encroachment on the freedom of the entire populace, particularly in Tral.

The rally, attended by enthusiastic supporters, witnessed impassioned speeches from both Mehbooba Mufti and PDP’s Srinagar Parliamentary constituency candidate, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, as they rallied the crowd behind the party’s vision and agenda.-KNB
