Srinagar, Feb 21 (KNB): Wular Lake International Short-Film Festival – WLISFF, was the first of its kind to be held in District Baramulla – Kashmir where people especially artists deprived of Films & Cinema. Apart from films & documentaries WLISFF comprises of Photography & Screenplay competitions as well participated in first edition.
According to organizers – “After the success of first edition on May 24, 2017 they are now all set for the 2nd Edition. most probably in April This year, we received more than 500 submissions from around 55 different countries of the globe which are currently being reviewed by our Esteemed Jury Panel. Submissions were free for Local Artists/Filmmakers/Writers in all categories of the festival.
The festival aims to provide platform to both independent & student Filmmakers, writers & photographers. WLISFF is a Festival dedicated to the talent of Children & Youth of our Valley. We also have a dedicated category for “Women Empowerment” as well.”
Pertinently, WLISFF’s objective is to feature great cinema of worldwide Filmmakers in a big way & at the same time providing professional networking & introducing current trends of cinema to the participants. The festival goal is to empower independent & student filmmakers of the Valley to become premium movie going event which would foster the growth of emerging filmmakers, writers & photographers.
