Srinagar 9 September (KNB): With 43,263 new Covid-19 cases, India saw a rise of 5,388 infections compared to the cases reported in the country yesterday, according to the data by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
As per the morning update by the Health Ministry, 338 deaths were reported due to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll in India to 441749.
MoHFW said that the active caseload is presently 3,93,614 and the active cases presently constitute 1.19 per cent of the country’s total positive cases.
“The recovery of 40,567 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,23,04,618,” officials said, adding that India’s recovery rate stands at 97.48 per cent.
As per the Health Ministry, the weekly positivity rate stands at 2.43 per cent, which remains less than 3 per cent for the last 76 days now and the daily positivity rate is reported to be 2.38 per cent.
“The daily positivity rate has remained below 3 per cent for last 10 days and below 5 per cent for 94 consecutive days now,” they added.
Moreover, MoHFW informed that 71.65 Cr. vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
“With the administration of 86,51,701 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 71,65,97,428 as per provisional reports till 7 am today,” they said and added, “This has been achieved through 73, 56,173 sessions.”
The Health Ministry said that the testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. “The last 24 hours saw a total of 18,17,639 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 53.68 Cr (53, 68, 17, 243) cumulative tests.” (KNB)
