Wife stabbed to death while saving husband in Hajin

Srinagar, Jul 09 (KNB): A woman identified as Shakeela Bano was stabbed to death by an unidentified persons in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district late Sunday night. The reports said deceased tried to resist the kidnapping of her husband during which she received major wounds causing her death.
A police spokesman in a statement said that few individuals Sunday evening forced their entry inside the house of Abdul Majid Dar at Hajin Bandipora and attacked her wife Shakeela Bano with Knives. Shakeela received multiple stab wounds and was immediately evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment. She was later shifted to SKIMS College Bemina however she succumbed to her injuries.
Reports said that the husband of slain woman Abdul Majid Dar is affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His wife tried to resist the kidnapping and she was later stabbed by the attacker, the local sources said.
“One gunman was inside my house. As I entered my home, he kept a pistol at my back and asked me why I was associated with a political party. I told him I was helping people and nothing more. The pistol-borne man later tried to get away with jewelry and 3 lac cash. I suspected he was a thief and in the scuffle that followed he stabbed my wife,” Dar said.
Meanwhile police has said that it registered a case in this regard and investigation has been initiated to unravel any ‘terror’ angle as well. (KNB)
