Don’t put pre-conditions: Analysts

Srinagar, June 08 (KNB): Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh during his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir addressed a press conference at Srinagar t yesterday. Addressing the media at SKICC, Singh said that the government is open for talks with anyone but they should be right-minded people in order to restore peace and tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Central Government’s special representative has visited the state 11 times. He appealed to all the sections of the society to introspect and come forward to help the Centre as well as State Government in bringing normalcy in Jammu & Kashmir. Recognizing the role of media, he requested for its support in this noble endeavor towards peace and development.
Commenting over the development while talking to the Kashmir News Bureau Advocate Nazir Malik, Zonal Secretary North Kashmir National conference stated – “Dialogue for the sake of dialogue does not work. Dialogue should be offered with proper ground work.
Merely talking of dialogue with hurriyat by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh and not walking the talk is disappointing to say the least, even the offer of dialogue is loaded with million preconditions thus making it look hoodwinking to say the least. The language and contours of the HM visit were more rhetorical in nature than having any concrete substance that could get Kashmir out of this dark tunnel of mayhem for which ruling regime of PDP BJP is to be blamed. In the name of security checks during home Minister visit commuters in Kashmir were put to difficult scenarios. Overall the Home Minister during his visit failed to break the stalemate or provide any brighter hope to heal the wounds of people especially youth of Kashmir.”
Mushtaq ul Haq Ahmed Sikandar, a political analyst, while talking to the Kashmir News Bureau over the issue stated – “The dialogue offer by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh is good but it should not come with any preconditions and especially we have horrible past experience when centre brings the dialogue offer within ‘ambit of Constitution’ and as a result talks reach nowhere. All the burning issues are finally settled on the table via the power of dialogue. With unfortunate cycle of killings, violence the valley of Kashmir is certainly craving for concrete and holistic dialogue n all the issues.” (KNB)
