Srinagar 23 December (KNB): After the Delimitation Commission’s proposal to add one more seat to Kashmir and six to Jammu’s existing ones, J&K Apni Party Chief Altaf Bukhari on Thursday said the Delimitation Commission has very “shamefully” attempted to pit the people of Jammu against the Kashmiris.
Bukhari said it while holding a press conference in Srinagar and underscored that the ulterior motives of the Delimitation Commission would not reach fruition.
“It is a matter of right and justice, it is a matter of scientific exercise, and if the Delimitation Commission had worked for one party, then there would be no more painful thing than it,” said Altaf Bukhari.
Bukhari also said that his party rejects the proposal of the delimitation commission and seeks the intervention of the Prime Minister into it as the Centre is directly ruling the UT.
Bukhari, in a veiled reference to NC, said that their flip-flop on the joining of the delimitation commission meeting has resulted in a loss to the people of J&K.
However, the Apni party has decided to hold a silent march against the proposal of delimitation commission on 29th December, which would be ahead of the PAGD’s proposed demonstration to be held on Ist January 2022. Bukhari said that they would disclose the location of the silent march later on. (KNB)
