Srinagar 28 Aug(KNB): Security forces have foiled an infiltration attempt in the Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, killing two terrorists. The operation took place near Naushehra Naar, where alert troops engaged a group of infiltrators attempting to cross into Indian territory across the Line of Control (LoC).
According to the Army’s Chinar Corps, the joint operation was launched based on intelligence provided by Jammu and Kashmir Police regarding a likely infiltration attempt. When alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire, prompting troops to respond with effective fire, neutralizing two terrorists.
The operation is currently in progress.
