Srinagar, September 8 (KNB): Two army soldiers who were critically injured during a gunfight in Kulgam’s Guddar area have succumbed to their injuries on Monday.
The Army’s Chinar Corps confirmed the news on social media, honoring the fallen soldiers. “Chinar Corps honours the supreme sacrifice of the Bravehearts, Sub Perbhat Gaur and L/Nk Narender Sindhu, in line of duty for the Nation. Their courage and dedication will forever inspire us,” the post on X read.
The message added that the Indian Army offers its “deepest condolences” and stands in solidarity with the bereaved families. The operation is still underway.
Earlier in the day, a gunfight broke out in the area, leading to the death of one terrorist and injuries to three army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO). The operation was launched following a specific intelligence input about the presence of terrorists in the area.(KNB)
