Two Militants killed in Bijbehara gunfight, identified

Bijbihara, April 25(KNB): Two militants were killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and government forces in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday morning.

As per the reports,the army had intelligence inputs of militants hiding in the area and had launched a cardon and search operation.A joint team of the Army’s paratroopers, the state police and the Central Reserve Police Force were carrying out searches at Bagender Mohalla Bijbehara area, when the militants opened fire at them.

The forces retaliated, leading to a gunfight in which two militants were killed.

The slain militants were affiliated with Hizb ul Mujahideen and have been identified as Safder Amin Bhat (25), son of Muhammad Amin of Zirpara Bijbehara and Burhan Ahmad Ganaie (25) of Malipora Hablish Kulgam.(KNB)
