Srinagar 11 April (KNB): Police on Sunday said two militants have been killed in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Bijbehara, which started on yesterday afternoon.
The gunfight had erupted between the security forces and militants when the searching parties carried out a cordon and search operation after the specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
However, officials said that two militants have been killed in the Bijbehara gunfight. “Both the militants killed, search going on,” said police.
The militants killed in the Bijbehara, as per IGP Kashmir, are the ones involved in the attack on a territorial army man, Mohammad Saleem Akhoon, who died on April 9 after suffering a critical injury in it.
“Militants responsible for the killing of Army jawan neutralised within two days in Bijbehara encounter,” said police quoting IGP Kashmir. (KNB)
