Two Kashmiri Youth bag Gold Medals in Karate Championship in Delhi

New Delhi April 29 (KNB): Two Kashmiri youth won gold medal in an ongoing 9th South Asian Hakuakai karate championships 2019 on Monday, held at Talkatora indoor stadium New Delhi.

On second day of championship J&K team won 5 medals which included two Gold medals and three bronze medals

In senior category Faisal Rather(19) from Ajas Bandipore won the Gold medal ,while Faizan Rashid(17) from Safapora also got Gold medals in junior category.

In Sub-junior category Shariq Shahzad,Sada Zehra and Affan Fayaz got Bronze medals.

The five medalists from the valley have qualified for world Hakuakai karate championships to be held in Tokyo Japan in the month of August 2019.

Meanwhile, J&K Hakuakai karate coach Faisal Ali talking to Kashmir News Bureau said, “I congratulate the players for success and well wishes them for upcoming championship to be held in Tokyo, Japan.”

He further said that youth of the valley are shining and excelling in field of sports, and the mentality of the parents is changing as more and parents are coming to me for training their wards and they think sports can be opted as a career option.”

Pertinently, Faisal Ali has remarkable changed the orientation of the people of the Bandipora and during the last few years a number of players from karate sports has emerged from Bandipora and have become famous at national and international level(KNB)
