Two drug peddlers arrested from Baramulla

Srinagar, July 11 (KNB): Police on Wednesday in Baramulla arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A Naka was established by Baramulla Police at Watergam crossing and during vehicle checking a Sumo vehicle bearing Registration No. JK05A-1637 was checked and two bags containing about 08 kilograms of contraband substance resembling poppy Straw (Fuki) was recovered from the possession of two persons who were later on identified as Tawseef Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Hamid and Showkat Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi both residents of Kalantara.
Tawseef Ahmad was arrested while as Showkat taking advantage of chaos and traffic jam tried to escape from the spot. However he was successfully tracked and later on his arrest was effected.
In this regard, a case FIR NO. 49/2018  under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered and investigation set into motion. Further investigation is going on. (KNB)
