Two arrested for selling Govt medicines to shopkeepers

Srinagar, July 02 (KNB): Two employees of JLNM Hospital Srinagar have been arrested by police for misappropriating Government supply medicines and selling these medicines to some medical shopkeepers which is supplied to hospital for mostly poor and needy people.

Reports reaching Kashmir News Bureau, Police Station Rainawari received information through reliable sources that some Government employees of JLNM Hospital Rainawari are misappropriating the Government supply medicines from the said hospital and are selling these medicines to some medical shopkeepers.

During the course of investigation, two employees of JLNM Hospital, identified as Shakeel Ahmad Shahid son of Bashir Ahmad Shahid resident of Housing Colony Bemina and Shameem Ahmad Khan son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Khanpora Beerwa Budgam were questioned. On their disclosure, four boxes of “METOCLOPRAMIDE INJECTION I.P” were recovered and subsequently both the employees were arrested.

A case FIR No 47/2018 under section 409 RPC stands registered in Police Station Rainawari and further investigation of the case is going on and more arrests are expected in the case. (KNB)
