Anantnag, Nov 8 (KNB): Train services were briefly disrupted on Saturday afternoon after an eagle struck the windshield of Train No. 74626 (Baramulla–Banihal service) while it was moving between Bijbehara and Anantnag railway stations in south Kashmir.
According to official sources, the bird hit the front windshield of the locomotive, causing minor injuries to the loco pilot, identified as Vishal. He was administered first aid at the Anantnag Railway Station and is reported to be stable.
Following the incident, railway authorities immediately halted the train at Anantnag to ensure passenger safety and carry out a thorough inspection of the engine before resuming operations.
Officials confirmed that all necessary safety protocols were observed, reaffirming that the safety of passengers remains the top priority for the railway department.(KNB)
