Srinagar, May 08 (KNB): In a significant development, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday convened an All Party Meet tomorrow amid fresh spike in the violence in Kashmir. Mehbooba also met met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The meeting will take place at a time when 16 people- eight militants, seven civilians and a tourist have been killed in the valley in past four days.
On Saturday three militants were killed in Srinagar’s Chattabal area, besides a teenager was knocked to death by a police vehicle. Next day, five militants and equal number of civilians were killed in a gunfight at Badipora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
This morning a teen succumbed to his injuries at SMHS hospital taking the toll to 7 civilians. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today. During the course of their hour and a half long meeting, Governor and Chief Minister discussed various important matters relating to counter-terrorist operations; continuing incidents of stone pelting; the death of a tourist and other concerns. They also discussed the growing radicalization and its grave impact in the educational sector. (KNB)
