Tangmarg Man Arrested Over claims he cures COVID-19

Srinagar March 20 (KNB): A twenty- one year old shopkeeper Mohammad Hussain Kumar son of Ali Mohammad Kumar of Mochikhoda Tangmarg was arrested on Friday soon after an audio clip was circulated widely on social media platforms and Watsapp groups
in which he had claimed to have found remedy to deadly COVID-19.

In the audio clip Hussain claimed that he had found medicine to the novel caronavirus that could cure lakhs of caronavirus patients, he also requested for his message to be made viral so that it can reach to the publc.

This audio clip was being shared widely by many WhatsApp users adding misinformation about the COVID-19.

Talking to Kashmir News Bureau, DSP Tangmarg Faizan said, “Appropriate action has been taken against the person who has been identified as Mohammad Hussain Kumar son of Ali Mohammad Kumar of Mochikhoda and is under police custody.”

He further appealed general public not to pay heed to such things, these are totally baseless.

Taking to KNB, The spokesperson DAK said, “This is total baseless theory, people should not pay heed to such things which are not scientifically proven.”(KNB)
