Srinagar, Feb 08 (KNB): Superintendent Srinagar Central Jail Hilal Ahmed has been suspended on Thursday during the enquiry into the incident on 6 February, 2018, at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, leading to the death of the two constables and escape of a militant, Mr Hilal Ahmed Rather , Superintendent, Central Jail, Srinagar is hereby placed under suspension, with immediate effect,” a government order issued by Home Department’s Principal Secretary RK Goyal said.
Two policemen were killed and a LeT militant managed to escape from SMHS Hospital on Tuesday following a shootout inside the Hospital premises.
The officer shall remain attached with Director General of Police, Prisons, till further order,” the order read. (KNB)
