Sopore observes Shutdown over killing of Hurriyat activist

Sopore 14 Sept (KNB): Complete shutdown is being observed in Sopore town over killing of Hurriyat activist on Saturday by unknown gunmen.

According to reports reached to Kashmir News Bureau, All shops and educational institutes were closed in Sopore and adjoining areas, while public transport was also off the roads.




The call for shutdown was given by Joint Resistance Leadership comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik.

On 11 September unknown gunmen killed Hurriyat activist Hakeem-ur-Rehman Sultani at his native village Bomai Sopore of district Baramulla.

Earlier, Authorities ordered suspension classwork in all educational institutions of sub division Sopore on Friday as precautionary measures (KNB)
