BJP Claims slain Youth as active party member

Srinagar, Jan 04 (KNB): From Social Media to real world people of Kashmir cutting across the political ideologies condemned the killing of young 25 year old Arif Sofi in Sopore North Kashmir who happens son of prominent Hurriyat activist Maqbool Sofi has evoked widespread condemnation from all corners of the society.
The Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umer Farooq condemned the killing of
Arif Ahmad Sofi, wrote on Twitter “Deeply saddened and strongly condemn the killing of 25 year old Arif Ahmad of Sopore by unknown assailants, killing human beings in every form is cowardly and against humanity.”
The BJP while claiming the slain youth as active worker, state party leadership Sat Sharma, state general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul, state general secretary and incharge Kashmir affairs Dr Narendra Singh and BJP Kashnir unit in an official statement said that they are deeply saddened over the brutal murder of party worker by militants.
Reiterating that killings are no solution to resolve political issues and condemnations don’t get dead bodies back, Engineer Rashid led Awami Itihad Party Spokesman has appealed militant outfits to clear their stand on the killing of Arif Ahmad Sofi in Sopore.
Chairman Salvation Movement Zaffar Akber Bhat condemn the killing of Arif Ahmed Sofi who is son of senior pro freedom leader Mohammad Maqbool Sofi and said that killers should brought to the justice, he said that whole family has rendered matchless sacrifices for the ongoing movement.
“The killing of an unarmed person is unjustified, Sofi was a wonderful human being, I had not met him from several years since I left the pharmaceutical agency, but still today I lost a good friend,” said a local entrepreneur Mudasir Muran while recalling his memories with Arif years back.
Pertinently, son of local head of Peoples League, a resident of Unisoo on the outskirts of Sopore was shot dead by unknown gunmen late Wednesday Night. He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard today amid a massive pro-freedom and pro-Pakistan sloganeering.
Sofi was working with a pharmaceutical agency is survived by two brothers and three sisters and a differently-abled father.
