Srinagar 21 June (KNB): Three militants have been killed by security forces during an encounter which started last night in North Kashmir Sopore’s Gund Brath area, said police on Monday.
The encounter started between forces and militants last night after carrying out a cordon and search operation in the suspected area. During the gunfight, three militants have been killed by the forces, as per police.
However, the slain militants include LeT commander Mudasir Pandit and Pakistani origin militant identified as Asrar alias Abdullah among other two killed in the encounter, said police quoting IGP-K Vijay Kumar.
Kumar said that the foreign militant was active in North Kashmir since 2018. Regarding the killing of Pandith, the IGP said that the killing of LeT commander Mudasir is a big relief for the local population.
As per IGP, Mudasir Pandit was involved in the killing of three cops and councillors and civilians two each recently. (KNB)
