Srinagar 16 November (KNB): Due to overnight snowfall around Jawahar Tunnel, the vehicular traffic on the 270 Km long NH44 between Jammu and Srinagar has been suspended since wee hours today.
About 4 inches of snow had accumulated on the road thereby causing slipperiness, which made the authorities to suspend the movement of vehicles there as a precautionary measure, an official stated.
As per Kashmir News Bureau reports, shooting stones continue at Panthayal while it is heavily snowing at Banihal Jawahar Tunnel areas.
Reports revealed that NHW44 is Closed for traffic movement and no vehicle was being allowed to travel to Srinagar or Jammu, beyond Udhampur and Qazigund since last night.
Reports further confirmed that few vehicles are stranded between Nashri and Banihal. (KNB)
