Srinagar June 01 (KNB):The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out raids at nine places in three districts of South Kashmir on Thursday in connection with a case of killing of a bank guard earlier this year in districtPulwama, officials said.
In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB SIA has said, State investigation agency (SIA) Kashmir carried out searches today at nine locations in three districts of South Kashmir namely Pulwama, Shopian, and Anantnag. Searches were conducted in connection with investigation of case FIR No. 14/2023 (Killing of Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Bank guard) of Achan, Pulwama.
“Some electronic gadgets including mobile phones, electronic storage devices, SIM cards, documents, bank documents etc relevant to the ongoing investigation have been seized during these searches and preliminary questioning provided very pertinent leads leads in the case”.statement added
“It is pertinent to mention here that the case was initially investigated by Pulwama Police and subsequently transferred to the SIA Kashmir. Investigation is progressing well and agency is hopeful of taking it to its logical conclusion”. Statement further added
SIA further stated that these searches were carried out in pursuance of search warrants issued by the Special Court for UAPA offences (designated under the NIA Act) Pulwama, actively assisted by sister agencies, during the pre-dawn hours today. KNB
