Srinagar 09 June (KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir’s Hirpora village, most probably of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, has become Covid free, said Health and Medical Education Department (HMED) on Wednesday.

The official tweet of HMED did not cite the name of the district in which the Hirpora village falls, but most probably the tweet was referring to Shopian’s Hirpora as the hamlet was a hotspot in the first wave of Covid19.

“Once a hotspot, Jammu and Kashmir’s Hirpora village stays COVID-free during (the) second wave,” tweets HMED J&K.

It further said that the feat has been possible due to the cooperation of the hamlet’s people and appreciated the role played by the people and vaccination.

“Intensive vaccination and pro active people’s participation played key role,” the tweet added. (KNB)
