Srinagar 08 September (KNB): The government of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday ordered the designation of the School Education Department as Nodal Department for monitoring Human Capital Index (HCI) of J&K Union Territory.
For monitoring of the Human Capital Index (HCI) in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the government ordered for the constitution of a committee, which would have the Principal Secretary to the Government, School Education Department as its Chairman.
Besides it, the committee would have five members which includes: Additional Secretary to the Government, Social Welfare Department; Additional Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department; Project Director, Samagra Shikha Abhiyan, J&K; Additional Secretary to the Government, Health and Medical Education Department and Additional Secretary to the Government, Skill Development Department.
The order said that terms of reference for the committee are to monitor the Human Capital Index in UT of J&K, to monitor progress and ensure improvement regarding reform actions.
It further said that the Committee shall meet frequently (at least once a month) and ensure on ground implementation of the reform actions and shall submit its report to the School Education Department on quarterly basis. (KNB)
