Srinagar 03 Sep(KNB): President Muslim Rashtriya Manch Kashmir Saif Khan, has expressed deep sorrow over the recent floods in the J&K, Punjab. He highlighted the significant destruction caused by a cloudburst in Bhalessa, which damaged several properties. He also noted that many houses and shops in parts of Jammu have been affected by the flooding.
Khan conveyed his sadness over the loss of lives in Katra due to the natural calamity and extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. He emphasized the tragic nature of the deaths and urged the government to provide immediate and proper relief to the bereaved families. He called on the public to remain vigilant and move to safer locations until the flood situation improves.
Furthermore, Khan appealed to the government of J&K, Punjab to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of its citizens. He stressed the importance of providing immediate relief, adequate compensation to those who have lost property, and ex-gratia payments to the families of those who have lost their lives. He also pointed out that water levels have crossed the danger mark in several parts of Kashmir and urged the government to make necessary arrangements, including setting up shelter sheds for those who have been displaced and moving them to safer areas.(KNB)
