Srinagar, June 23 (KNB): IPS officer of 1987 batch who has served his services in the state for the last three decades S.M Sahai is likely to take over as Jammu & Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) S. P Vaid, however, there was no official confirmation about this development.
Earlier following the imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir, many reshuffles were made in the administration.
S.M Sahai, as IG Kashmir is known for bringing Kashmir back to peace after the unrests in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013.
Sahai was shown the door when Kashmir witnessed the longest unrest in 2016, however, with the imposition of governor rule the decision of promoting Sahai as DGP has been giving node. (KNB)
