Rumours and hate messaging: Internet suspended in Jammu

Srinagar, April 17 (KNB): Internet Gag has reached Jammu. Internet service was suspended in Jammu region on Tuesday to prevent spreading of rumours and hate messages, said an official.

Pertinently, the decision was taken by the government and telecom operators were asked to suspend the service forthwith. Police sources state that the decision was taken in view of law and order situation in Saroor area of Jammu, reports of stone-pelting were received from the area, which falls in Vijaypur constituency of shamed BJP leader Chander Prakash Ganga who resigned last week from the cabinet.

It is worth pointing out here that Ganga had resigned after outrage over his participation along with another BJP leader Choudhary Lal Singh in a rally to support the accused in terrible Kathua gangrape-and-murder case. (KNB)
