Srinagar 28 July (KNB): Rise in new novel coronavirus cases across India as 43,654 infections were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total toll across the country to 3,14,84,605, according to the data by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday.
Yesterday, for the first time in nearly 4 months, the Covid-19 cases had dipped below the 30,000 mark across the nation.
As per the morning update by the Health Ministry, 640 people lost their lives due to Covid-19 in the same time, taking the total death toll across the country to 422022.
According to the data, there have been a total of 3,06,63,147 recoveries across the country so far and the recovery rate currently stands at 97.39 per cent. 41,678 patients have recovered during last 24 hours only.
India’s active caseload currently stands at 3,99,436 and these active cases constitute 1.27 per cent of total cases, the Health Ministry said.
The MoHFW informed that the weekly positivity rate remains below 5 per cent and currently at 2.36 per cent, whereas the daily positivity rate is at 2.51 per cent and remains below 5 per cent.
Moreover, as per the Health Ministry, 44.61 Crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. The testing capacity has also been substantially ramped up and the total of 46.09 crore tests have been conducted across the country. (KNB)
