Srinagar 27 August (KNB): Renowned broadcaster and Editor of Shaherbeen, a well-known current affairs program of All India Radio (AIR) Srinagar, Maqsood Ahmed was felicitated on Friday with the National AIR Award 2021 from All India Institute of Self Local Government Mumbai (AIILSG), a premier government recognized Institute of Mumbai.
The award was presented to Maqsood by the Advisor of J&K LG Farooq Khan in an award ceremony held at SP College M A Road Srinagar.
It is pertinent to mention here that the J & K Government has also awarded Maqsood with a state award in 2010 in the best media personality category.
He is the first journalist from AIR who has been honoured with the state award. Maqsood is a post-graduate (PG) in Mass Communication and Journalism from Kashmir University and hails from a far flung area of Uri.
Moreover, NDTV journalists Ramesh Kumar was also awarded, whereas, Principal SP college prof Khursheed khan was also on dice.
Others felicitated by AIILSG on the occasion include former Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Masood Samoon, Director Doordarshan Srinagar Dr N S Manhas, Producer DDK Gulzaar Ahmed Lone, famous Kashmiri Sufi singer Abdul Rashid Hafiz and Sheena singer Yousuf Naseem. (KNB)
