Srinagar 08 November (KNB): PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that visit of Home Minister of India Amit Shah was looked upon as to ameliorate the situation here but turned out its opposite.
Mehbooba Mufti said it while addressing public at party headquarters in Srinagar and underscored the rising sufferings of masses by saying that the prevailing conditions in the J&K have stifled the voices of UT’s people.
While stressing about the present conditions in J&K, she said that thousands of youth were sent to Agra jail on the Home Minister’s visit. She also invoked the arresting of Kashmir youth after their alleged cheering of Pakistan’s win in the T20 match over the Indian team. “They have to think why Kashmiri youth is clapping for Pakistan and where there is a mistake in it. They have to find a remedy,” she said.
Mehbooba said that Amit Shah had found out the actual situation of J&K after visiting here. She said that they (Centre led government) had to think about how to make the situation here better after knowing about it. “Nothing can be achieved by sending more and more troops here who are taking over community halls and other structures,” she added.
She further said that till the government was in J&K, Article 370 was not allowed to touch, but after the government toppled, they (central led BJP) did whatever they liked.
She said that if anyone is killed by CRPF, BSF or Police’s fire, no one talks about that, and vice versa is seen after someone gets killed by militants.
While concluding her address, she emphasised the importance of unity and vowed to fight for the reinstatement of Article 370. (KNB)
