Rambagh to Hazoori Bagh flyover: Traders demand compensation for losses

Srinagar, July 25(KNB): Scores of traders who own shops on both sides of Hazoori Bagh to Rambagh flyover are up in arms against Government as they are yet to get rehabilitation and compensation as promised by the government a few years back.


The traders said that Rambagh flyover via hazoori bagh has inflicted loses to their trade and has worstly affected the livelihood of hundreds of traders around the flyover and accused the government of failing to provide them an amount of 10’000 per month as compensation which was promised to traders few years back by the Government.

Showkat Ahmad, member of Kashmir traders union said, “Government promised us an amount of 10,000 per month as compensation few years back but till date we have not received a single penny .”

Another trader said, “Rambagh flyover has led to congestion due to which customers face problems in parking their vehicle and prefer another area for shopping which has led to a decline in our trade, moreover we are yet to get rehabilitation from government promised a few years back.”
Despite repeated calls concerned authority could not be contacted for comments. (KNB)
