Railways Boosts Connectivity to J&K Ahead of Amarnath Yatra, Adds Special Trains and Trips

Jammu, June 28 (KNB): To facilitate the convenience of pilgrims visiting J&K for the Amarnath Yatra, Indian Railways has announced additional train trips and a new train service from July 3. The increased frequency of trains will run between New Delhi, Jammu, and Banihal, providing easier access to the pilgrimage site.

According to railway officials, the measures include 18 additional trips of the New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi-New Delhi reserved festival special train (04075-04076) from July 3 to August 1.

A new train service starting from New Delhi on July 3, with halts at various stations, including Sonipat, Panipat, and Jammu Tawi.

Five additional trips of the weekly special train running between Safdarjung and Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan Udhampur (04141-04142) from July 1 to July 30.

Extension of the Dome train service between Banihal and Budgam until September 9, 2024.

These additional train services aim to provide better connectivity and convenience to pilgrims traveling to Jammu for the Amarnath Yatra.(KNB)
