Srinagar 01 October (KNB): Pulwama Police on Friday said that they have recovered a girl within two days after being kidnapped by a person in South Kashmir.
As per police, police station Litter received a written complaint from a person on 28th of last month regarding the abduction of his daughter.
On the basis of the written complaint, police said that the kidnapper was identified as Showkat Ahmad Wani, a resident of Khellan, Pulwama. “In this connection a case FIR No 103/2021 US 366 IPC was registered at Police Station Litter and investigation set into motion,” said police.
However, to recover the girl from the kidnapper, whose name was mentioned by the abducted girl’s father in complaint, a special team under supervision of SDPO Litter Furqan Qadri was constituted for investigation.
“During the course of investigation the special Police team headed by SHO Police Station Litter, while acting on specific leads, raided various suspected places for recovery of the abducted girl. After strenuous efforts the Police team recovered the abducted girl from village Kulpora and also arrested the accused kidnapper,” police said.
It was also said that after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs and further investigation is going on. (KNB)
