Srinagar 14 July (KNB): Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) Commander of Pakistan origin and two local militants from Kashmir have been killed in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Pulwama, said IGP-K Vijay Kumar on Wednesday morning.
The encounter started in Pulwama last late night after the inputs about the presence of militants in a suspected area. The operation was carried out by Army, Police and CRPF.
However, IGP-K Vijay Kumar said that a total of three militants have been killed among whom one of the slain has been identified as Aijaz alias Abu Huraira, an LeT commander from Pakistan.
He further said two more militants were killed, who are from Kashmir, during the operation in South Kashmir’s Pulwama.
After the operation, arms and ammunition, incriminating material was recovered from the encounter site, as per police.
IGP also congratulated the police and security forces after the Pulwama encounter.
“Pakistani LeT commander Aijaz @ Abu Huraira killed along with 2 local militants. Congratulations to Police & SFs,” said police quoting IGP Vijay Kumar. (KNB)
