Protests outside Kashmir University over expelling of Law student

Srinagar, May 31 (KNB): Scores of students’ majority of them from Law Department of University of Kashmir Thursday staged protests demanding that the decision to expel a law student Mohsin Nabi from hostel be revoked.

Pertinently, Mohsin Nabi (Room No 223) from Department of Law hailing from South Kashmir’s Shopain district was expelled from the university hostel following complaints of misconduct, indiscipline and use of abusive language.
Demanding that the decision to expel a law student from hostel be revoked, the students of Law department held a protest outside the Kashmir University gate near Sir Sayed Gate and blocked the road.

Umair Ronga, one of the protesting students talking to Kashmir News Bureau (KNB) said that this arbitrary action on part of Warden/Provost is highly condemnable. He said that a impartial probe should be ordered in this regard.

Registrar Kashmir University, Prof Khursheed Ahmed Bhat said, “One man committee headed by the Chief Proctor has been constituted to investigate the matter and action will be taken against those found involved.” (KNB)
