Srinagar, 20th October (KNB): The authorities in Awantipora have attached an immovable property, comprising 01 Kanal and 15 Marlas of orchard land, located at Noorpura, Awantipora in Pulwama district.
Police in a statement said that this property is linked to the alleged absconding millitant Feroz Ganie, son of Naber Ganie. The operation was executed under Section 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC) following a court order from th Additional Sessions Court in Pulwama, which is a National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court.
Statement further stated that Feroz Ganie is a wanted individual involved in case FIR No. 36/2023 under several sections, including U/s 18, 20, 23, 25, 38, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P) Act) and Section 7/25 of the Indian Arms Act.
He was earlier declared a proclaimed offender by the Special NIA Court in Pulwama under Section 82 CRPC after he failed to cooperate with the investigating agency and remained at large. Statement added .
Feroz Ganie is known to be involved in promoting and revitalizing millitant activities by smuggling arms and ammunition and activating local millitant networks. Statement further added-KNB
