Pulwama 26 February (KNB): Pulwama police recovered huge quantity of poppy straw in Badriwan area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials stated that Pulwama Police received information that a person namely Ashiq Hussain S/O Ab. Majeed Malik R/O Badriwan, has kept a huge quantity of Poppy straw in his cow shed.
“On receipt of this a team of Pulwama Police headed by SDPO Litter Furqan Qadri accompanied with SHO Litter Inspr. Hafeez Choudary raided the said cow shed and recovered 18 bags containing Poppy Straw weighing about 202 Kgs and accused arrested,” officials stated.
Officials added that in this connection case FIR No. 04/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered in PS Litter and investigation has been set into motion.
Furthermore, officials also said that general public of the area appreciated the role of Pulwama Police for drug eradication and appealed for continuing action against peddlers/smugglers in future. (KNB)
