Srinagar, Nov 13(KNB): Srinagar Police, alongside the 132 Battalion CRPF and the Mahila Company of 88 Battalion CRPF, conducted extensive Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) and surprise vehicle checks in the busy Barbarshah area on Thursday.
The coordinated security drive saw houses and commercial establishments thoroughly searched as part of proactive measures to prevent any potential threats. The area witnessed a significant presence of police and paramilitary forces, who conducted checks and frisking of commuters to ensure a secure environment.
A senior police officer described the operation as part of a “continuous preventive strategy to maintain peace and stability in Srinagar.” He emphasized that such exercises are routine in nature and are designed to reassure citizens and visitors of their safety.
“These proactive and preventive measures are part of our ongoing effort to ensure a safe and secure atmosphere for both local residents and tourists,” the officer stated, adding that Srinagar Police remains committed to upholding public order and countering any elements that could disturb peace.(KNB)
