PM Says Arrangements Going On For J&K Assembly Elections

Srinagar 15 August (KNB): Arrangement regarding the conducting of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir in the offing is in progress, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday while addressing the nation on 75th Independence Day. 

PM, besides other things in his address to the nation, said that development on the ground can be seen in J&K, which he meant and hinted at the development after the abrogation of article 370. 

He also talked about the holding of DDC polls in J&K and said that it shows the determination of the country. 

Modi further referred to the constituting of Delimitation Commission in the valley and said that arrangements regarding the holding of assembly elections in J&K in the offing is going on. 

As the Ladakh became a separate UT after the abrogation of Article 370, PM regarding the Ladakh said that it too is moving towards the development.

He also referred to an infrastructure being created in Ladakh and said that the region will become a centre of higher education after the Sindhu Central University. (KNB)
