Srinagar 22 September (KNB): Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of turning New India to Fit India is slowly coming true, said Union MoS for Home Affairs and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Nisith Pramanik on Wednesday while being overwhelmed by the atmosphere at a sports competition event in central Kashmir’s Srinagar.
Addressing the gathering at final Ceremony of Inter Zone District Level Competition at Amar Singh College in Srinagar, MoS Nisith Pramanik said that the dream of PM Modi, that children through out India, from every nook and corner, every village must get involved in sports activities is coming true slowly. “I had come here to encourage all of you but instead I am feeling energetic because of you all.”
He also mentioned about the Yoga performed by the PM Modi during International Lok Diwas and said that in Fit India Freedom Run 2.0, Minister of Sports, Anurag Thakur took part in the run and inspired athletes and other people taking part in the event.
MoS Nisith Pramanik said that Indian athletes made country proud in the recent Olympics held in Tokyo and added, “After witnessing your dedication towards the sports activities, I have complete faith that children of Kashmir, Srinagar will make it to the international levels and make the Indian Flag fly high.”
“Not only in International events but many athletes among you will participate in the Olympics and bring back the Gold for the country,” he added.
Apart from a huge crowd of athletes and performers, Advisor Farooq Khan, Principal Secretary YSS Alok Kumar, Director YSS Gazanfar Ali, Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gul and other dignitaries attended the ceremony.
Pertinent to mention that the competition was inaugurated on 18 of September, in which 140 teams comprising about 1700 boys and girls from different districts of the UT participated and more than 200 officials were deputed for the successful conduct of the tournament. (KNB)
