Srinagar 4 May (KNB): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday condoled the death of ex Governor of J&K Jagmohan Malhotra who died in Delhi after remaining ill for a brief period.
Jagmohan was born on 25 September 1927 and had served in important positions and was the 5th Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
On Jagmohan’s death, both the PM and Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed their condolences and grief through their separate tweets on Tuesday morning.
PM in his tweet said that “Jagmohan Ji’s demise is a monumental loss for our nation. He was an exemplary administrator and a renowned scholar. He always worked towards the betterment of India. His ministerial tenure was marked by innovative policy making. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
While in another tweet Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Shri Jagmohan Ji will always be remembered for his remarkable tenure as the Governor of J&K. An able administrator and later a devoted politician who took key decisions for the nation’s peace & progress. India mourns his sad demise. My deepest condolences to his family. Om Shanti.” (KNB)
