Srinagar 01 Sep(KNB): Tahir Sayeed, spokesperson for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is reportedly set to end his decade-long association with the party. Sources close to the development have informed Kashmir News Bureau that Sayeed is contemplating his departure at a crucial time when Jammu and Kashmir is gearing up for the upcoming Assembly elections.
The possible resignation comes on the heels of the PDP’s recent announcement to field senior party worker Mohd Afzal Wani as its candidate for the Trehgam constituency in Kupwara district. Sayeed, who had been a hopeful contender for the same constituency, is believed to be discontent with the party’s decision, which may have prompted his decision to quit.
This development follows the recent exits of two other PDP spokespersons, Suhail Bukhari and Harbaksh Singh. The series of resignations indicates potential unrest within the party ranks, posing further difficulties for the PDP as it seeks to regain its foothold in the region’s political landscape.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation from Tahir Sayeed or the PDP regarding his resignation.(KNB)
